Carl Sandburg College has partnered with TechWise, a Google-sponsored training platform, to offer an 18-month virtual program designed to help students become world-class, entry-level software engineers.
TechWise is a diversity, equity and inclusion program that offers technical training and 100 percent tuition scholarships. It is seeking Sandburg students graduating in 2024 who are pursuing an associate in applied science in information technology & cyber security or students working toward an associate degree who plan to transfer and major in a technology field.
The key objective of TechWise is to enable enterprising and aspiring students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds or underrepresented communities to prepare for high-growth tech careers upon graduation.
In addition to fully funded tuition, students also receive a $5,000 scholarship to assist with basic expenses to focus on their learning goals. Program applications are open until Feb. 7, and classes begin Feb. 20. The program is limited to 120 students from Sandburg and other select colleges and community colleges.
An informational Zoom session about the program will be available for Sandburg students from 3-4 p.m. Feb. 3. To attend the Zoom session, click HERE.
